Our Team

Khang Bui

Founder

I wanted to consolidate a group of like-minded individuals to make a difference in my community. Working as an EMT and in the emergency room, I’ve realized the widespread lack of health literacy amongst vulnerable populations as they have their priorities elsewhere. As the founder of Project Healthview, I am to foster a community that urges the ebbing of negligence and make gradual changes that could increase the quality of life for those around me.

Leone Marcial Manaloto

Director of Geriatric Outreach

I want to make a difference in a community that I truly care about. My childhood days in skilled nursing facilities have unveiled the melancholic social situation of geriatric culture and people. By reaching out and aiming to educate on the prevalence of negligence as well as integrating interventions to shift the culture, we can help make a difference. Time follows change, as long as there exists a catalyst.

Donna Kim

Director of Health Informatics

Working as an EMT, I realize the importance of maintaining personal health and how a lack of health education can hinder this. Through Project View, I hope to work together with likeminded individuals in serving local populations, focusing on improving health literacy. I hope to utilize what I have learned in literature and the public health field and develop engaging ways to increase health literacy in my community. I look forward to working within my community and making small improvements that go a long way.

Alexis Fox

Director of Health Literacy

I have always had a passion for preventative medicine and I believe our efforts to improve health literacy among underserved populations can, itself, serve as a form of prevention of chronic illnesses. Education is paramount and it is something that many of our peers do not have access to, making it difficult for them to make informed health-related decisions in favor of their well-being. With my passion for medicine and plan to pursue a career in the field, I feel a sense of responsibility and urgency to educate populations of people who are uninformed about health resources, as these are my future patients, and I want to do what I can to help them early on. Everyone deserves to live a healthy and fulfilling life and I believe our efforts in improving health literacy can help do this.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to the medical industry while uplifting the spirits of patients in need of care. Recognizing the desolate living conditions within hospitals, I want to make a genuine difference through joyful events, livening up their day-to-day lives. Through my past volunteer work with similar groups, I have seen firsthand the impact that thoughtful engagement can have on individuals. I am excited about the future of this program and to continue making a positive impact, while advocating for the importance of self-care among those in need.

Kelly Li

Director of Public Relations

I am excited to utilize my time and skills to interact with parts of the community that require additional resources to improve public health overall! I’ve seen what it’s like to lack education in treating illnesses due to a lack of education, especially before immigrating to the United States, so finally having the chance to act on something I’ve been passively observing my whole life will be extremely worthwhile. I’m ready to interact with the community and create a resource for them that will not only help relieve their anxiety in interacting with the healthcare system but also help make their days just a little bit brighter!

Ethan Lin

Director of Dental Literacy

As someone deeply passionate about dentistry, I am committed to contributing a dental perspective to our mission of improving health literacy. Oral health is a vital yet frequently overlooked aspect of overall well-being, and I am eager to help bridge that gap. My goal is to empower individuals to prioritize their oral health and understand its impact on their overall health. This aligns with my vision of promoting preventive and holistic dental care. I look forward to engaging with the community, fostering awareness, and—quite literally—bringing smiles to people’s faces!
